3 Things to Look for When Purchasing a Child’s Toothbrush

Posted .

As you search for the perfect child’s toothbrush at the store, you might feel a little bit confused or overwhelmed. If that’s the case, you are not alone. Toothbrushes can be very tricky, especially when it comes to picking the perfect brush for your child. So, to help you choose the best brush, we recommend picking one that:

Is easy to use
Make sure you choose a brush that has a small head and a non-slip grip. These characteristics will help the toothbrush fit perfectly into the mouth and they will also give your child the control they need to scrub. To make things easier, look for a small, child-sized toothbrush rather than one that was made for an adult. We also strongly recommend choosing a brush with soft bristles.

Has been approved by the ADA
The American Dental Association tests products regularly to evaluate safety and effectiveness. So, if you choose a brush that has the ADA’s seal of approval, you have picked a product that will safely and effectively clean your child’s smile each day.

Is one that your child loves
Sometimes getting a child to brush their teeth is extremely difficult. However, if you buy them a brush they love, maybe one that has their favorite cartoon character on it, then they will enjoy brushing once more. To make things even more fun, take your child to the store with you and have them choose a brush themselves.
